We look at the whole path: available capacity at the plenum, the size and length of existing trunk lines, how many fittings and flex turns are eating static pressure, and — the most commonly missed piece — whether the system has enough return air to support new supply. Adding registers without adding return simply moves the problem.

Typical projects include running supply to a finished basement or attic conversion, adding a return to a closed-off bedroom, extending trunk lines for a home addition, replacing crushed or disconnected flex, sealing leaky joints that dump conditioned air into an unconditioned crawlspace, and adding dampers so the system can be balanced seasonally.
